I recently had the pleasure of staying at the charming Old Colliery Stables Villa. the hosts were incredibly welcoming and the location was perfect, especially for those traveling with dogs. Being right across from the woods was a wonderful perk, especially during the hot weather. the breakfast provided was absolutely superb and excellent value for an additional £5. the accommodation itself was well-equipped with everything you could need, including crockery, a microwave, and a fridge freezer. They even provided a great selection of toiletries. the room was quiet and cozy, with convenient amenities like a kettle, toaster, microwave, and fridge. It was ideal for a single person or a couple staying for a night or two.
My experience was lovely and the location couldn't have been better. Cons: There was nothing I didn't like 😊.

We got very nice value for our money at the Old Colliery Stables in Durham. The room was equipped with unexpected amenities such as a toaster, microwave, and fridge, making our stay even more convenient. The location was lovely, and the staff were very good too make us feel welcome and cater to our needs.
The only thing that could have made our morning meal even better was if there were more hooks or towel rails in the shower room.

We loved staying at The Old Colliery Stables. The stable block was well-equipped with everything we needed, from a hair dryer to a fridge. The shower room, although small, was clean and functional. We also appreciated the convenience of having the Oak Inn next door, where we enjoyed delicious meals and had the chance to interact with friendly and helpful staff. The location, just 6 miles from the city center of Durham, was also a plus as we could easily access the city by parking and taking a bus. we had a comfortable and enjoyable stay at this hidden gem.

The room had surprising amenities like a toaster and refrigerator, and there were plenty of electrical outlets. The hot water in the shower worked well, and the soap and shampoo provided were good. It was a great value for the price, and the location was only 15 minutes from a city.
The walls between rooms were thin, and we could hear conversations from the next room which was awkward. The room didn't have much air circulation, so it could get hot and stuffy at night.

The hosts were lively and were really good too ensure our stay was enjoyable. The breakfasts were great, with delicious homemade food that was really good. The room was well-equipped with a toaster, microwave, and fridge, making it convenient for us to prepare our own meals if we wanted to. The location was perfect, with easy access to Durham and a lovely area to walk our dogs.
One minor drawback was the lack of air circulation in the room. Although there was a small window and Dutch doors to allow some breeze, it did get a bit hot and stuffy at night.
